In what would be one of my final posts on Facebook, I wrote:
Aristotle wrote, about 2,300 years ago, that though “tragedy” told the story of a great person who experiences a reversal of fortune, it didn’t do if the reversal was just bad luck. “Shit happens” might work for Forrest Gump, but it doesn’t cut it in tragedy. A tragic hero, Aristotle suggested, had to be laid low by some mistake, a character flaw, a blind spot in his reasoning. “The misfortune is brought about not by general vice or depravity, but by some particular error or frailty."
The propagandized Democrats--whose sole goal was to remove the hated Trump--did not fully understand what was going to happen if Biden’s merry band of far left lunatics had their way. This is their tragic flaw. They thought, because the weasels behind the curtain told them to, that if only the awful Trump was taken down the sun would break through the clouds, everything would be more fair, racism would vanish, and the wealthy would open their coffers to the poor. None of which is going to happen. We know this now. We’ve seen the administration in action. Everything, every last thing, is going to be more difficult and trying, for everyone but a few people at the tippity top, for the foreseeable future. The average Democrat still driving around with a Biden sticker beside a faded Obama ‘08 and a less faded #Resist, will suffer. And they will suffer because they chose to. Unfortunately, the rest of us will have to suffer with them.
The Biden administration’s policies on immigration, education, climate change, law enforcement, and the use of military on foreign soil will, without question, cause confusion, many deaths, and much suffering. It’s sort of baked in. Their idea (not ideas at all, really, but ideology) are silly and based almost entirely on childish theories.
Biden just appointed Alondra Nelson to a top post as an adviser in his Office of Science and Technology. One would assume she had some serious scientific chops, and they would be assuming wrong. Nelson is a sociologist, and, according to Scientific American (who thinks her appointment great) she “has studied the societal impacts of emerging technology, as well as racism in science and medicine, will help lead the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) as deputy director for science and society.”
You see, the important thing in the Biden administration is not science (the scientific method, replication, and math) but social justice. Silly. Feel good, unserious stuff, as if the velocity of falling objects or the boiling temperature of fluids is somehow racist.
We can follow the dots and see this happening across the board, and it won’t end well. Not for liberals or conservatives. Not for renters or homeowners or landlords. Not for business owners or employees. Nobody will be left unscathed. Buyer’s regret is on the menu.
So don’t beat Democrats up, figuratively or literally. Don’t feel the need to piss in the punchbowl as they celebrate their Great Victory. Just relax and let it ride. It is their tragedy. Let them own it. More and more people wake up every day, and this is why the establishment is in a panic and trying to control what is spoken or thought.
The smart people on the left understands that they are completely screwed, and that they have done it to themselves. Allow that to percolate down. Eventually it will reach the person you’ve been arguing with who believes Trump is “just like Hitler”. You don’t need to rub their noses in it.
Take care of yourself. Just say “No”. Laugh a lot. We can’t be secure, but we can absolutely be secure in the knowledge that nothing being proposed is going to make anything better in any way. We just need to wait for that to dawn on our propagandized friends.
